American Girl

This 4th of July I am so elated to finally experience my first American Independence Day here in LA. I've always seen pictures and heard stories of fun pool parties, backyard BBQs, and of course the stunning firework displays. As peoplegather with loved ones to celebrate the U.S. being independent from Britain, I can't help but find it ironic that me, having moved from the UK will be taking part in these festivities.

The props at Nick Metropolis on La Brea seemed like the perfect backdrop for this lively photo shoot. This iconic shop has been serving everyone from Celebrities to production assistants in Hollywood for over 25 years. Whether you're looking for secondhand furniture, signage, artwork, or other quirky collectibles, Tourists are drawn to the crazy carnival looking maze of a house since it's so hard to miss.

My circus meets American flag outfit was definitely inspired by the patriotic spirit in the air. Everyone always seems to stick to the typical red, white, and blue. Then I thought to myself, "why not add some green shorts in the mix to truly make this a memorable ensemble?" So I did and it turned out pretty rad if I may say so myself. The one shoulder, striped blouse is by Australian label Finders Keepers, the high waisted shorts are by Finery London, and the star-spangled cross body purse is by Marc Jacobs (similar here on sale). For a while now, I had been lusting over these metallic leather crossover sandals by Gucci and I got them as an early birthday treat to myself. They completed the entire look and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Happy 4th of July my lovelies, hope you are all enjoying the long weekend festivities!
