Equestrian Style
For those of you who have been following along on my Instastories, would know that I have recently taken up horse-riding again after being off the saddle for years. Its an incredible sensation to feel such a powerful beast beneath you and connect with nature while galloping into the sunset (or in my case, doing laps around the ring for now :-)
Another thing that has always fascinated me about the equestrian world is the ultra chic fashion that goes along with it, and big fashion powerhouses like Hermes, Gucci and Ralph Lauren have been 'riding' the trend for years. Think hacking jackets in tweed, jodhpurs in rich earth tones and of course the classic leather riding boot, tall and sturdy...perfect fall attire, horse or no horse!
With this in mind I totally fell in love with this Veronica Beard tweed blazer with a contrast sleeve detail which I styled as one of the looks on our recent Joshua Tree trip. To make it more city-life appropriate I paired it with this gorgeous front draped dress by Blesse'd Are The Meek, a pair of fur lined western booties by EMU Australia and my new wood mirror lense shades by Woodzee (fittingly named Joshua Tree sunglasses). To add an extra detail of interest and accentuate the waist, I tied the whole look with a buckle belt...and voila, elegant and equestrian inspired.
