Golden Hour Glow
There’s something about the sunset that makes people fall so deeply in love with them. The calmness of the waves crashing against the shoreline as the sun slowly descends and casts a golden haze over the ocean. It makes the water sparkle, the sand glitter, and makes you feel lighter than air as a breeze brushes across your skin. There’s nothing like the Golden Hour.
During Anna’s stay, we were able to capture some beautiful shots at El Matador Beach in Malibu. It was my first time here, and it absolutely took my breath away. After a walk down a long wooden staircase, we strolled along the shore, explored the sea cliffs, dabbled our feet in the cold Pacific water, and watched the most amazing sunset. There is a well-known spot at the beach where a cliff has an opening, creating a pathway for visitors. During that sunset, the light perfectly shined through and looked like a golden pathway. That’s what so magical about Golden Hour, it illuminates the entire ocean, and transforms it into a sun-kissed canvas for just those few minutes.
I chose these two dresses to reflect the golden rays, with a blush high-slit maxi from The Jet Set Diaries, which made me feel like a Grecian Goddess. The wind from the air that day created so much movement in my dress, almost like it was creating the waves in the ocean. My WOW Couture dress was a nude long sleeve body-con with a metallic floral pattern. When the dress catches the light, it illuminates and creates a beautiful glow.
Golden Hour happens everyday and can be experienced everywhere, but out by the ocean, it is slightly more magical. 45 minutes of pure bliss and golden haze, there’s nothing quite like it. This day definitely outshined.
