Leopard in the City
Before I headed to Europe I spent the day strolling through the Platform complex in Culver city and I wanted to share another city-summer look I shot there.
For this day to night ensemble I matched a pleated, silver pastel midi skirt from Topshop with a snow leopard print top by Thakoon that I've had for a few seasons. I tend to stay clear from the traditional leopard print as I feel it can be a bit aggressive at times. After seeing so many disasters on both celebrities and the common folk alike it's never been my go to print. Having said that, in moderation and as an accent leopard print can work very well. A Katetip to style this exotic print can be a beautiful pair of leopard heels with a black tailored suit or a thin belt to accentuate a black dress or perhaps even a little clutch, again best with an all black outfit.
What I do love though is a bit of a snow leopard print or even a cheetah print every once in a while. The snow leopard being from the silver colour family is far more versatile and understated and goes well with other shades of grey or even a pair of denim for a more laid back look with a twist. In this case I paired the look with this cute moc-croc platform sandal from Zara in a rich burgundy and an Elizabeth & James suede over the shoulder bag in the same tone. I am so excited that Elizabeth & James have finally opened their first stand alone store and it's based here in LA at the Grove, so you'll be seeing me wear a lot more pieces form this brand.
If you're looking for a cool place to hang out, the Platform is the spot. Great place to grab a bite and walk around admiring the sleek design of the architecture. Personally I fell in love with the giant graffiti on the attached parking structure which resembles a rainbow or melting candy swirl and puts a smile on my face every time I walk by!
Have a lovely Monday guys and thanks for stopping by!
