Nocturnal in Naples

Nocturnal in Naples

Mafia, pizza and scenes from eat, love, pray where the first things that came to mind at the mention of Naples. I must say we were a bit apprehensive about staying in the city after so many Italian well wishers warned us about the high level of crime on the streets and other tourist horror stories. However after the first hour of being on high alert we quickly settled in and began to soak in the rich history and rustic charm of this special city!

The trip was made all that sweeter by copious amounts of cafes and cake shops on every corner as well as the most delicious Italian pizza, which we definitely binged on plenty!

On our last morning in Naples we set out into the labyrinth of narrow streets of the Old City to shoot this stunning Rejina Pyo dress. The dramatic oversized sleeves and corseted waist on this number had some major Scarlett O’hara feels and it was like stepping back in time with the derelict walls of the city acting as our backdrop. The dark vibes of this look really resonated with the mood of the city, deep and full of character.

Unfortunately Naples gets a bad rep especially when compared to other Italian destinations. Don’t get me wrong you should keep your whits about you when visiting, but I would definitely give this city a chance! You’ll be surprised with the authentic experience, the incredible food scene and the warm and welcoming people this place has to offer.

Have you been to Naples, and loved or hated it? Would love to hear your thoughts..
