Tea Time and Tan Trench

Having grown up in London I was definitely accustomed to some good ol' afternoon tea with my girlfriends.  With the many adjustments that came with moving to California was the realization that people don't quite do tea time like we did back home and its been something I've missed. As I'm sure you've noticed if you've been following along my Instagram feed, I do enjoy trying new coffee shops when I get the chance, but the moment I knew Alfred Tea Room was opening I was..... let's just say a little more than excited. Obviously because of the brand this place came with a lot of hype and it sure is living up to it all. With its options of over 30 different types of artisans teas sourced from around the globe and the irressitable pink interior, this spot is the perfect place to sip on some tea and watch the fashion crowd.

All this thought of tea had me wanting to introduce back a quintessentially British item into my LA wardrobe; the trench coat! One of the most understated and timeless fashion pieces, the trench coat has remained a constant in womenswear for over 100 years. A perfect transitioning piece from fall to spring the classic tan trench is so versatile it can be easily dressed up or down depending on occasion. Here I paired it with some boyfriend denims by Current Elliot, beige suede pumps by Pour La Victoire and a fun cropped slogan tee by Pull & Bear. This particular trench by Storets has an overseized shape and a contrast red paisley lining on the sleeves and belt detail which offers it a more laid back contemporary feel.

I finished off this sophisticated cool look with some Makko jewellery which I've been loving lately. These bold minimal pieces add an instant statement to any outfit and have powerful Japanese inspired messages inscribed to protect and empower the wearer.
