Werking at the Carwash
As Christina Aguilera would say, “ Working at the car wash, oh yea.” In this case, I’m werking at the car wash. Anna and I were out and about when we stumbled upon this old fashioned car wash in Silver Lake. It had such a great charm that we couldn’t resist snapping a few shots.
It just so happened that I was wearing an orange floral slip-dress, which complimented the bright yellow background of the car wash. It was literally meant to be. The dress, which is by Allen Schwartz, also has some delicate black-lace details that add an extra notch to the already beautiful piece. The reason I love slip dresses is because they’re so versatile. You can make them sporty in the daytime or elegant and sexy in the evening. Since I was wandering the town, I decided to pair this dress with some Dear Frances black satin slide, which had the cutest pearls to give each step a little more style. I finished my look with a knitted bag from 711, a brand from Georgia that I am completely obsessed with lately. They make the most adorable bags in an array of knits which are offset with a perspex frame for an old meets new creation.
So if you’ve got a slip dress in your closet, mini, midi, maxi, I recommend throwing it on and giving it a twirl around town. Style it a multitude of ways and just remember, whether you’re at a car wash or a catwalk, always werk it.
