Ending 2016 and starting the new year in Tulum, Mexico has been a dream. Of course being in paradise doesn't come without its challenges for a self-proclaimed city girl, I mean the internet as a whole is my life. It's times like this where I'm glad I can speak Spanish and ask for the best wifi spot and another margarita of course. All jokes aside, I do have to admit its been quite refreshing to immerse myself in nature and start this new year surrounded by the sounds of the ocean and beautiful palm trees. From staying at an incredible beachside villa (that was plagued by a plethora of iguanas) to exploring the depths of the jungle and Mayan ruins, I'd say this is pretty much the perfect location to ring in what I think will be an incredible year.

In my quest to put together some epic looks for this holiday getaway, I discovered some brands that were perfect for the the colorful town that is Tulum. I knew I wanted to celebrate the new year with this maxi dress by Flynn Skye, a cool, California mother-daughter inspired brand that I'm currently obsessed with. The elegant rings and wrap-around hand piece and choker are by De La Rosa Tulum, a handmade contemporary brand based off of this beach town in Mexico. The black velvet embroidered bag is by Topshop and I was so ecstatic when I found it and couldn’t believe the beauty of the details. I opted for some gold sandals and black shades to complete my beach inspired NYE look. The beauty of holiday in Mexico is that it's perfectly acceptable to be more laid back for parties, but of course it never hurts to add your own personal touch.
